WHO WE ARE
Central Maine Bassmasters is a B.A.S.S affiliated club located in Durham Maine. We meet once a month; on Sundays during the winter and Wednesday nights in the summer. Our meetings last approximately two hours with much of that time set aside to talk about fishing (lures, techniques, etc.). Every member of the club is dedicated to helping the environment as well as assisting new fishermen learn to enjoy the sport!
Central Maine Bassmasters is very proud that we have been recognized by the Maine Bass Federation as the club that has done the most again for youth and conservation events in 2015….Central Maine has taken those awards and added them to all of the previous awards we have received in the same categories and we look forward to continuing this excellence in the 2016 season.
WHAT WE DO
Most people believe that a fishing club is just that, a fishing club but while we fish, we here at Central Maine Bassmasters do more than just fishing. Every year we strive to keep our boat launches and lake’s clean by picking up trash at a local boat launch, pulling fishing line from a submerged log to save someone’s propeller, or simply recycling all the baits used in tournaments using B.A.S.S’s ReBaits program. We also utilize our time for volunteer events, like Pine Tree Camp on North pond in Maine’s Belgrade Lakes region, taking the campers out for a day fishing on our boats, ensuring that every child is given the chance to fish with a club member. We also donate fishing equipment to them for other campers to use while they are there.
During the free time in between our conservation efforts and volunteer work, we fish seven tournaments a year along with hosting a single “open” tournament, usually on China Lake.
